narrative

When I was ten years old my whole family and I went to Hawaii over Christmas break. I still remember how excited I was when my grandparents told all of us. I had always wanted to go to Hawaii because my mom lived there for a long time and my aunt was born there. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my entire life. One thing that I have never liked is waking up early in the morning. I am not a morning person and never will be, but waking up early the day of our flight was not a problem at all. I was ready to go as soon as my alarm went off, packed and dressed and out the door as fast as possible. Everyone was ready to go, everyone was so excited. It was a fourteen hour flight, but we got the plane with the TVs and free snacks so it was tolerable. It felt like it took forever to get there because I was so excited, all I could think about was the warm air and how amazing the beaches were going to be. We had our own house that was rented for the week and there was a pool and it was close to the beach so we could be outside and be in the water whenever we wanted. Being there over Christmas break was a little different but it was okay because we got to go surfing on Christmas day, and that is something that will never happen again and not many people get to say that that's what they did Christmas morning. My favorite part about the whole trip was going on a tour of the big island and getting the see all the beaches, and animals, and volcanoes. At one stop on the tour they showed us the black sand beaches, theses beaches were the most beautiful beaches I had ever seen. The sand was so soft and there was white sand mixed in but very faintly so it looked like the beach was sparkling when we pulled up on the bus. Also at this stop we got lucky enough to witness about ten to twenty baby turtles finding their way back to the ocean. They were so tiny I felt like I would break one if I touched it. Some of them flipped over when they were trying to crawl on the sand and we were allowed to flip it back over so it could get safely to the water. It was amazing to see how little they start out and then see how big they become. I really hope that I get the chance to go back to Hawaii one day, it was an amazing experience and they also have the very best pineapple that I have ever tasted!

  3. I have always went to Hawaii, usually trips are always very memorable and easy to describe because there is no other feeling like them. Reading this reminds me of the vacations that I have been on and the excitement around them.
